After that, it’s time to go to famous Bora Bora your ultimate destination. Finally, you will come back to Papeete to catch your flight back.

When to Visit Bora Bora Holidays

Bora Bora has tropical marine climate with only slight seasonal temperature variation. However, the wet season from November to April brings tropical cyclonic storms. For perfect weather on your Bora Bora Holidays, you should travel between May to November. May and September are the best months to visit with perfect combination of ideal temperature, humidity and low rainfall.

Day 1 – Papeete / Tahiti Island

Most of the visitors start Bora Bora Holidays by arriving to Faa’a International Airport. This airport is situated on the largest island in French Polynesia – Tahiti. It’s the cultural, economic and political centre of French Polynesia and most the populous island in the chain. We suggest you stay in InterContinental Resort Tahiti, it’s great for 1 night stop over after the long flight and you can use your IHG points to pay for it. It’s also has a very convenient location and only 5 minutes taxi ride from the airport.

Days 2-5 – Moorea

Moorea is not quite as beautiful as Bora Bora, but it still comes up in the top 10 lists of most beautiful islands in the world and also in top 300 Wonders of the World. It’s only 12 miles away by ferry from Papeete and definitely worth a visit during your Bora Bora Holidays.

What to Do in Moorea

Moorea is famous for the stunning views, white sand beaches and snorkeling. Visit Belvedere Lookout for the views of Moorea’s 2 bays. This view was featured in popular movie – “Return of the Bounty.”

Another gorgeous view and by most believed to be better than Belvedere Lookout is Magic Mountain. The view is truly magical! You can either take a steep path to climb there or purchase ATV tour, which would get you there in no time.

Snorkeling is world famous in Moorea. If are adventurous can take a tour to Sharks Sandbank and have a unique experience snorkeling with dozens of harmless blacktip reef shaks and stingrays. However, if you are with kids you might prefer safer waters of Lagoonarium, which is like swimming in an aquarium.

Moorea Hotels

For travelers on tight budget, we recommend Linareva Moorea Beach Resort. It’s a lovely small hotel away from the center. However, if you want luxury, go to Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa or Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort. Both of these are gorgeous 5-star resorts.

What to Do in Bora Bora

Bora Bora was selected as 100 Wonders of World and truly remarkable for it’s natural beauty. There are a lot of activities you can do on the island from scuba diving to hiking sacred Mt. Otemanu.

If you enjoy beaches, your would like Matira Beach. This picturesque beach is great for a pleasureful hike and has boutique shops and cozy restaurants.

Mount Otemanu is an icon of Bora Bora. It’s ancient dormant volcano, which rises to more than 2,400 feet. This mountain is what makes Bora Bora so special, without it would be just another pretty island. You can take 3 hours return hike to get to a small cave beneath the top of the mountain. There another much more challenging hike to Mt. Pahia Summit, which takes around 5 hours.

Mount Otemanu

Leopard Rays Trench is famous for snorkeling in shallow waters with reef sharks and rays.

For more advanced snorkelers or scuba divers, lemon sharks at the entrance to the lagoon next to Vaitape provide ultimate experience with one of the snorkeling excursions.

If you prefer more controled environment for snorkeling, you would love Bora Bora Lagoonarium.

Bora Bora Hotels

We recommend Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora for your stay in Bora Bora. It’s expensive, but provides unique experience with amazing views on Mt. Otemanu from overwater bungalow. It’s also child friendly, so you will are welcome to bring your kids who would love the kid’s club. There is a little lagoon on the territory of Four Seasons for snorkelers with plenty of reef fish and other marine life to see.

St. Regis Bora Bora Resort is another 5-start resort, which won’t disappoint you. However, it’s not as kids friendly as Four Seasons and suite honeymooners better.

What to eat in Bora Bora

If you love great food you are in the right spot my friend! Tahitian food is a mouth-watering blend of Polynesian traditions with a French twist. Try Poulet fafa or chicken with taro leaves, which is a traditional Polynesian festival food cooked in underground oven with hot stones.

Poisson Cru is another local delicacy, which you don’t want to miss. It’s raw fish or seafood marinated in lime juice and coconut milk mixed with vegetables.
